Mental health and Pandemic
These days people are revolving around only physical health
due to the pandemic. But the most important is the most ignored, our mental
health. Human beings are the most vulnerable to isolation as they rely on other
people for everything, our physical and mental health too.
So it is natural to feel anxious or depressed in a time where
one is isolated. Everyone has their own struggles, different beings of the
society have been affected by this and the solution being common for all of us.
First of all the one part of the society that is affected the most, the poor
people. They are not only taking physical but also mental problems, they are
not even sure is they will get food to eat tomorrow. So they are struggling for
everyday and for once if anyone can feel their pain, they’d only be amazed of
their tolerance, even in normal days. And then come the ones who are trying to
protect us from the pandemic. They face extensive amount workload, creating
higher chances of burnout and loss of elements in their lifestyles like sleep,
appetite which play a great role in mental health and this also poses another
problem.
And the lifestyle of students is arguable, for some it is
great and for some it is terrible. Well at the very least, it is not healthy as
the screen time increase due to the online classes is causing lack of sleep,
migraine.
So more or less there are elevated rates of stress or anxiety
are there. Higher levels of loneliness, depression, harmful and alcohol and
drug use, and self-harm or suicidal behavior are rising.
So what’s the solution?
There are a few ways to deal with mental illness due this
lockdown:-

Exercise – Regular
exercise helps building physiological possibility to deal or to tolerate
greater amounts of mental pain, releases hormones to alleviate mood and
maintain overall performance at a good pace.

Socialize – As the problem is caused by isolation, countermeasures can be taken like socializing, with the safest methods possible. Like on an online platform, talk about each others' feelings more often, it is not an easy task but is a huge relief on anxiety and depression.
·
Try exploring
new hobbies- These days everyone is having a lot of free time, it is likely
that anyone might not use it and spend it goofing around. So it is likely to
get depressed under such circumstances. Thus, one needs to find a new hobby to
keep going and get their mood alliviated.
